On the menu this week

This week we have another couple of new cask ales on offer and a returning favourite of mine.

The first newbie is 1864, a traditional pale ale from Firebrand. It has a lovely colour and aroma with a subtle hop taste. Very enjoyable.

Making a return, from a brewery we've not used for a while, is Misty Mountain Hop, a golden ale from Fine Tuned. This is a beautiful beer and another favourite of mine. This is hands down my beer of the week.

After having two bitters sell out faster than the others on offer across the past two weekends, which is absolutely unheard of, I've decided to put a stout on this week! Am I an absolute idiot? We'll have to wait and see. Entire Stout completes our run of Hop Back ales and before I've served one I already know that it divides opinion; a couple of customers think it's the best stout on the market, another thinks the exact opposite! As you know, I'm not a big stout fan, but I think this is very drinkable. It has a slight smoky aroma and a smooth, traditional taste.
